    Walnut Shadow

Posted by Martina on 15th Aug 2022

I use the walnut shadow to cover my grey hairs. The colour doesn't wash out, but stays in my hair for ages (unfortunately I need to redo the roots frequently, but that's life!) I love Desert Shadow because I'm really sensitive to chemicals, and conventional products make me itch. When I use Desert Shadow I don't get (much) itching. Thank you!

    I'm a convert!

It's the first time I've tried an organic dye like this. I have psoriasis of the scalp and was just absorbing toxins into my raw skin previously. This is a gentle-feeling and natural alternative and I love it. Effectively covered my greys and the colour is gorgeous on my medium brown hair. I was a bit daunted by the more complicated process of mixung the dye, but after doing it once I know I'll be much quicker next time. I'm definitely going to be using this dye from now on. Thrilled to have discovered it!

    Amazing!

I just have to write this review because I am absolutely AMAZED at the results from this product. I am in my mid 30s and am getting patches of grey hairs popping up (mainly underneath). I am very conscious of toxins in my skincare abs hair care. I usually have a semi permanent dye done at my eco hairdresser and even though it’s lovely, it is very expensive and doesn’t really leave my hair looking very healthy for long. I thought I’d try Desert Shadow although I was terrified the colour would have a red tinge to it (which a lot of henna colours do). To my surprise the colour is stunning and not red at all. I have washed it twice since colouring it and it’s noticeably shiny. I have sun damage which no hair mask was helping. I love the colour, it’s so rich and beautiful. Has covered my greys well (some look more golden now but it’s ok). The only downside is the prep work but once you get the hang in it it feels like a special ritual. Love the me time. What a great product!

    Walnut Shadow

I have started using this product after my hair has grown back after losing it all due to chemotherapy. It leaves my new hair soft and I am so happy that I can colour my hair without using harsh chemicals. I will continue to use it for sure.

Wonderful product! Have been using it for several years now. It is a more natural-looking colour than the supermarket varieties. Also important to me, most of the packaging is able to composted. Highly recommended.

Very happy with the colour and the grey coverage (on about 70% white).

    Desert Shadow - Walnut

I love this shade, and find the application of it straight-forward. Could do with slightly better grey coverage, but overall very happy.

    Grey highlights

I found the walnut shadow hair dye quite effective. I am in my mid thirties and have quite a lot of grey hair. I purchased this product as it was a natural alternative to salon hair dyes that are full of harmful chemicals. It is quite time consuming and requires preparation. I followed the instructions, leaving the mixture on my hair for the full 4 hours. The result was not as good as the salon, but it was still lovely. It gave my grey hairs a lighter shimmery brown tone - not completely covered, but not as obvious as stark grey hair against my naturally dark brown hair. It left my hair feeling nice and healthy too and didn't affect the psoriasis on my scalp. I will purchase again.
